Email that behaves like a salesperson, not a newsletter

Lifecycle journeys that react to what a lead actually does — a pricing page visit, a proposal opened, thirty days of silence. Built on a CRM we wrote ourselves, with the deliverability groundwork done properly, because most email problems are DNS problems wearing a marketing costume.

The real problem

Most email problems are infrastructure problems

When email underperforms, the instinct is to rewrite the subject line. But the usual causes sit below the content: authentication records that were never configured, a domain sending cold without warm-up, a list carrying addresses from 2019, and a sequence that fires on a calendar rather than on anything the recipient did.

Those are DNS, data and systems problems. A copywriter cannot fix them, which is why email so often plateaus no matter how good the writing gets.

  • SPF, DKIM and DMARC configured and monitored
  • Journeys triggered by real behaviour across channels
  • Lists cleaned and segmented before volume is increased
  • Reported on clicks, replies and pipeline — not opens
  • Consent and unsubscribe handled correctly by default

What's included

Email as infrastructure, not a campaign

The channel that catches everything the others produce — and the only audience you actually own.

Lifecycle strategy

Mapping what each stage of your funnel needs, where email genuinely helps and where it's just noise added to a busy inbox.

Campaign design & build

Templates that render correctly across clients, dark mode and mobile — built and tested, not assumed. Accessible, and light enough to load.

Drip & nurture sequences

Onboarding, nurture, re-engagement and win-back arcs written as a whole, so each message assumes what the last one established.

Behavioural journeys

Sequences that branch on real actions: pricing page visits, proposal opens, chat conversations, call outcomes or going quiet for thirty days.

Deliverability & list health

SPF, DKIM and DMARC, domain warm-up, bounce and complaint monitoring, suppression and re-permissioning. The unglamorous work that decides everything.

Segmentation & personalisation

Sending less to more relevant people. Segments built on behaviour and CRM data rather than a first-name merge tag pretending to be personal.

Transactional & lifecycle

Receipts, reminders, renewals and re-orders — the highest-engagement email you send, and usually the least designed.

Testing & reporting

A/B tests run to a decision, and reporting on clicks, replies, meetings and revenue per sequence — with opens treated as the unreliable signal they now are.

Diagnostics

Six reasons email underperforms

Almost none of these are about the writing. That's why rewriting the newsletter rarely changes the numbers, and why the fix usually needs someone who can edit DNS records.

The free audit checks your authentication, sender reputation, list health and existing flows, and tells you which of these is actually costing you.

Authentication missing
SPF, DKIM or DMARC absent or misconfigured
Batch and blast
Everyone gets everything, so engagement decays
A stale list nobody prunes
Old addresses quietly destroying sender reputation
Schedules, not triggers
Day 3 and day 7, regardless of what the lead did
Optimising for opens
A metric privacy features made largely meaningless
No handoff to sales
An engaged reply that nobody in the business sees
Why DRC Digital

We didn't just learn a tool — we built one

We wrote the automation platform

Our own CRM runs sequencing, behavioural triggers, sender management and reporting. We understand these systems at the level of the code, not the settings screen.

Deliverability is engineering

DNS records, domain warm-up, bounce handling and reputation monitoring are infrastructure work. We can edit the records rather than emailing your IT team about them.

Triggers from every channel

Because website visits, live chat, WhatsApp and calls all land in the same CRM, a journey can react to any of them — not just to whether an email was opened.

Honest metrics

We don't headline open rates. Privacy features made them unreliable, and reporting them as success is either careless or convenient. Clicks, replies and pipeline instead.

About the service

Email marketing & automation from DRC Digital

DRC Digital is the growth practice of DRC Infotech LLP, a software development company operating since 2009. Our email marketing and automation services cover lifecycle strategy, campaign design and build, drip and nurture sequences, behaviour-triggered journeys, deliverability and list health, segmentation and personalisation, transactional and lifecycle email, and testing and reporting. We work inside your existing platform or run campaigns on the CRM we built ourselves, which handles sequencing, triggers, sender management and attribution.

Email is the only channel where you own the audience outright. Social reach is rented from an algorithm, paid reach stops when the budget does, but a permissioned list keeps working — and it is the natural destination for leads that paid media, social and content produce. That is why we treat it as infrastructure rather than as a campaign, and why the first month of most engagements is spent on authentication, list hygiene and lifecycle mapping rather than on sending anything. We work with clients across India, the US, the UK, Europe and Australia, and every engagement opens with a free audit of your authentication, sender reputation, list health and existing flows.

01What does email marketing and automation include?
Lifecycle mapping, campaign design and build, drip and nurture sequences, behaviour-triggered journeys, segmentation and personalisation, deliverability setup and monitoring, transactional and lifecycle email, and reporting with A/B testing — plus CRM-driven outbound where email is used for prospecting rather than broadcasting.
02Why do our emails go to spam?
Usually authentication and reputation, not content. Missing or misconfigured SPF, DKIM and DMARC, a domain sending without warm-up, a list with old or purchased addresses, and high complaint or bounce rates all push mail to spam. These are DNS and infrastructure problems, which is why marketing teams often can't fix them alone.
03Which email platform do you work with?
The major platforms, and we can also run campaigns on the CRM we built ourselves — it handles sequencing, behavioural triggers, sender management and reporting. If you're committed to a platform we work inside it. If you're choosing one, we'll tell you which fits your volume and complexity rather than which pays the best referral.
04Are open rates still a reliable metric?
No — and any agency headlining them is being careless. Privacy protections pre-load tracking pixels for a large share of recipients, inflating opens and making them unreliable for comparison. We report clicks, replies, meetings booked and pipeline, and treat opens as a rough directional signal at best.
05What's a behaviour-triggered journey?
A sequence that reacts to what someone does rather than to a fixed schedule. A pricing page visit, a proposal opened, thirty days of silence or a booked demo can each start, branch or stop a journey. Because our CRM captures website, chat, WhatsApp and call activity in one place, triggers can be based on real cross-channel behaviour — not just email opens.
06Do you write the emails, or do we?
We write them, with your review and approval. Sequences are drafted as a whole rather than one email at a time, because the value is in the arc — what the second message assumes you already read, and when the sequence should stop. Templates are built and tested to render across major clients, dark mode and mobile.
07Can you clean up our existing list?
Yes, and it's usually the first thing we do. Removing invalid addresses, suppressing long-term non-openers, de-duplicating contacts and re-permissioning where consent is unclear protects your sender reputation. A smaller engaged list almost always outperforms a large stale one, even though it looks worse on a slide.
08Is email marketing still worth it?
Yes, for one structural reason: it's the only channel where you own the audience. Social reach is rented from an algorithm and paid reach stops when the budget does, but a permissioned list keeps working. It's also the natural home for the leads every other channel produces, which is why we treat it as infrastructure rather than a campaign.
